James E. Ray, MANAGING PARTNER RIG Consulting Group
- James E. Ray has spent more than 20 years helping organizations get better terms, lower costs, and fewer surprises from their contracts and vendors. His career spans strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and procurement across airline, healthcare, health insurance, technology, and tribal government organizations. James has led contract and vendor teams, built the standard operating procedures and review processes organizations rely on, and trained internal departments on contract practices. He is skilled at translating complex terms into plain language and at bringing Legal, Finance, Risk, and operations to a shared decision. He founded RIG Consulting Group in 2016 to bring that same enterprise-level discipline to small and mid-sized businesses, which often negotiate with larger counterparties and have no legal or procurement team of their own. RIG helps clients draft and negotiate contracts, assess risk and compliance, manage vendor relationships, and outsource purchasing. James holds a Master’s degree in Management (Project Management) from Avila University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Missouri Kansas City. He is based in South Florida.
